Jelly kids, music for the sweet tooth

by Kym - Divine Finds on December 19, 2012 · 31 comments

I think kids have rhythm programmed into them at birth. I love watching kids dance, jive and have a fabulous time going crazy to music, you can’t help but smile!

The girls of course adore music and anything with a beat will get them going, particularly Miss S, who will start bopping her head or swinging her arms to any music, anywhere including the supermarket. They have CD’s by some of the well-known kids entertainers, but a new children’s musical group have been the favourite in the house lastly, and they are Jelly Kids.

Jelly Kids

With an album that looks good enough to eat and music that is fun, funky, catchy and certain to get kids moving, Jelly Kids is defiantly music for cool kids.

Jelly Kids Music JellyThe debut album features 11 songs including…

  1. Funky Red
  2. Eating Jelly with your fingers
  3. Beach Reggae
  4. Alphabet Groove
  5. Chocolate Now
  6. Clouds
  7. One Nose Blues
  8. Disco Train
  9. Smile
  10. Lullaby
  11. Funky Red Remix

Jelly Kids music has a really funky feel to it. Unlike the traditional kids nursery rhymes or music accompanied by silly noises and comical acts, the Jelly Kids music is filled with instruments and a focus on not only the fun lyrics but the musical instruments and music genre. There is a little bit of Jazz, a bit of rock, funk, pop and blues and you can clearly hear the drums, bass, guitars, keyboard and lovely singing voices of the trio. This refreshing take on kids music makes it as enjoyable for the adults, as it is for the kids.

The girls have been having the best time listening to the album and watching Miss C in particular change her dances to follow the music genre is wonderful to watch. She said quite a few times “this is fun Mum!” and by far her favourite songs were “Funky Red” and “Eating Jelly with your fingers” which were nice and fast and got her dancing around the room in a frenzy.

Everything about Jelly is sweet, from the songs, to the lyrics and the album design itself. Ideal for putting on and getting the kids moving during the day or for using during those long car trips to make things just a bit more fun and lively (plus it won’t drive Mum and Dad crazy!)

We like to listen to ‘kids music’ while eating breakfast and getting ready in the morning, or while doing quiet activities like colouring-in or play dough. My eldest son is 13 this year – so for almost 13 years I have been listening to the same typical kids music (truthfully it can do my head in some days – other days I really enjoy it lol!!) Time for some new music!!
