Doing the dishes doesn’t have to be a chore with Dishmatic

by Kym on January 15, 2013 · 66 comments

Doing the dishes, is there anything to really like about it? I love my dishwasher and 99% of everything we have in the kitchen can go in it but inevitably there will be something to wash up. Usually it is only 1 or 2 things (except for after baking which leaves a mountain of things!) and it is quite painful to have to fill up the entire sink to wash just them up.

Enter the smart idea of Dishmatic. The simple and effective quality sponge scourer and fillable handle in one. It makes washing up quicker and easier as everything is ready to go and dispenses only as much washing up liquid as necessary. It is simple to fill with washing up liquid and the integrated cap has an easy-to-use hinge to avoid lost caps.  You then replace the scourer when it is worn down and you are ready to go again.  I remember years ago uses a similar product at my Brother’s bachelor pad. It was the cheap $2 store version and although the idea was the good, the quality wasn’t, unlike the Dishmatic products.

Dishmatic Range

The clever angled handle are designed to be long-lasting as well as being designed to be good for the environment. They are made from 50% recycled plastic and even the 3 styles of refill pads (micro-soft, heavy duty and xtra heavy duty) are made from 60% recycled material. I found they didn’t leak washing up liquid from the sponge and the micro soft refill (which we used most) performed well getting food off plates and bowls and didn’t scratch anything we used it on.

Dishmatic In Use

I found the handle to be good quality and withstood our recent camping trip to the dam and the lots of washing up it had to do (the cabins don’t come with dishwashers! lol).  It was the perfect thing to use camping as it it seemed like I never stopped washing up! The steel scourer pad was great to use on the BBQ and the brush was good for cleaning out jars and bottles.

Dishmatic and Ecoforce Range

Lastly there is the Ecoforce range of recycled household cleaning and laundry products.

I have had so many pegs in the past break on me while hanging out clothes, that I am quite specific about what pegs I buy. I don’t mind paying extra for pegs that work well and won’t disintegrate in the sun and rain.

So I was loving the new pegs I got to try from Ecoforce. They not only were completely made from plastic (93% recycled plastic too) which means no springs, no metal too rust, no wood to stain but they are also UV stabled and they are strong! They get my seal of approval.

Ecoforce Pegs

Overall, all the Dishmatic and Ecoforce products I got to try were fantastic and if you want to check them out in store too, you can find them at Woolworths, Big W, IGA, Franklins and independents with prices starting from $4.

Will have to try rhese!

9 Rachel K January 16, 2013 at 2:21 am

These sound fantastic! I’d love to try the refillable handle with sponge it sounds like it’s exactly what I need. I suffer from a bad back and bending over at the sink is a real killer. I think one of these would give that extra reach enabling me to stand more upright, relieving the pressure on my back.

31 Peta Masih January 25, 2013 at 2:59 pm

We use a DishMatic at home & LOVE it! Makes doing dishes quick and easy, especially if there’s only a couple of items!! I’d love to try out those Ecoforce Pegs too…they sound fantastic, as I hate when my pegs break and I lose the springs, etc in the yard (always concerned my toddler or puppies will find them and choke on them).
